Family Vacation Part One: Arches National Park

The boys had a few day off from school this month. Dan insisted that we take a family vacation.
I love when he does that.
We ended up at
Arches National Park & Goblin Valley State Park.
(This must have been a great idea, because thousands of other people had the same idea)
Due to the fact that I refuse to camp with a crawling baby, we reserved a hotel room in Green River, located right between the two parks.
We spent our first day in Arches, which is one of my favorite places in the whole world. We decided not to do any of the "big" hikes with the boys. They aren't quite old enough. So we did several smaller hikes, seeing as many arches as we could. In total we hiked about 3.5 miles. I was very proud of my little hikers.

By far, the favorite arch of the day was Sand Dune arch. The boys could have stayed there all day. The sand was soft and cool and deep. It was easy to dig and mold. And lucky for us, another large group brought sand toys to share.

Stay tuned for part two: Goblin Valley
