I Detest Potty Training

Preston has developed a great fascination with the potty.
He loves the thing.
He would play on it all day if I let him.
When Tyson uses the bathroom Preston wants to join him.
He loves his little potty and his potty seat on the "big potty."
Sometimes he will pull at his pants and diaper saying, "Potty, Potty, Poop, Potty," in a little whiny voice of desperation.
He loves to flush.
He loves toilet paper.
Sometimes when he sits on the potty he will point his little parts down and make a peeing noise.
He has NEVER actually peed in the potty.
Several times he has played on the potty for an extended period of time, then peed on my floor as soon as we are finished.

(Tyson "reading" to Preston while Preston teaches his doll to sit on the potty)

But I don't want to potty train him!
Does that make me a bad mom?
Does anyone want to do it for me?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?
Bueller?

Nicole, I'm still laughing about that.

Since Mom did most, if not all, of the potty training of our kids, I can't say I know how it's to be done. But, it seems like it's still a bit early to expect Preston to figure out just what he should be doing.

For now, it's just a source of entertainment.

I'm still laughing...

I agree with you. I think he is too young. He does not agree with me.

Is that our doll and potty? I thought I had lost it, when I potty trained Payton. Also I would say I would avoid the bathroom all together. Did I tell you Payton threw a toothbrush in our toliet and we had to get a new one this week. Boys and the potty just don't mix.

My doctor told me to have the older kids potty train them. I think you're on the right track with letting him teach the doll and Tyson helping out! Halle loved the Elmo potty DVD. He'll get it!!

Ha ha. That is too funny. Glad I'm not there yet. I have also heard of letting the older one doing all the teaching.

My friend put prizes up on the mantel for both the older and younger child and whenever the younger one would use the potty they both got a prize. She said she never had to ask if her younger needed to go to the potty because the older one hovered around her all day asking her if she needed to go.

Good Luck!!!!
