Our last adventure was a trip down 234 stairs into Moaning Cavern. This underground cavern is large enough to hold the Statue of Liberty. But instead of seeing Lady Liberty, we saw cool rock formations.
Our tour guide was pretty entertaining. He pointed out several interesting shapes and shadows on the walls. For example, on one wall you can read the word "Hi." An adjacent wall reads, "Doom." There is also a shark leaping out of one wall and a statue of Mufasa was near the bottom. I personally liked the giant melted marshmallow, and the chocolate waterfall.
This formation was hollow. It played lovely music when you hit it.
I kind of hoped we'd see a pile of bones at the bottom. Thousands of years ago, prehistoric people fell into the cavern and died. Scientific explorations of the cavern discovered the unfortunate demise of these people. The gift shop above the cavern has a glass case displaying all the stuff they've pulled out, including a human skull that was determined to belong to an Asian woman. I wonder how she got there?
The dim lighting made it difficult to take clear pictures in the cavern. Here is a blurry look at a section of the spiral staircase we took down into the cavern.

Very cool. That is quite the staircase. I am impressed that you want to repel down that! Another fun place to visit. What a fun vacation.
