A Visit From Lisa

About a week ago I received an email from Lisa, Tyson's birth mom. She wanted to know if she could personally deliver Tyson's Christmas present this year. Tyson was so excited.
No, let me re-phrase that.
TYSON.WAS.SO.EXCITED!!!
She only gave us a vague idea of when she was going to come so Tyson had to exercise quite a bit of patience. In fact, due to weather and scheduling conflicts she had to re-schedule twice. Poor Tyson was about to go crazy.
The doorbell finally rang the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Tyson was suddenly a little shy and nervous (as he always is when he first sees her. It takes him a minute to warm up.)
He gave her a big hug and invited her in. They chatted about the fun things they had done during the holidays and exchanged gifts. She gave him his building set, Zoob (see previous post) and together they tried to build something cool.
She also brought a gift from her parents. Another perfect gift, a set of Magic Tree House books.
Tyson was really excited to give her his gift. And Lisa was excited when she opened it. He gave her a new pretty apron. He made sure it was red because he thought she would look pretty in it. It turns out, red is her favorite color. She was excited because she loves to cook (something they have in common) and doesn't have an apron. She's always wanted a nice one.
