Swimming like Fish

The boys had a great session of swimming lessons this summer. We had a great new teacher this year, and we tried private, one-on-one lessons for the first time. I am in love. It was so great.

The boys made so much progress! Tyson is doing really well with free style, back stroke and elementary back stroke. He got a quick taste of breast stroke as well. One of his favorite parts was learning to dive. He's a natural at belly flops and cannonballs (as evidenced by his second place win in our ward belly flop contest again this summer. You may remember he won third place two years ago.)

This was Preston's first experience with swimming lessons. He did really well learning to float on his back. He loves to swim.

I think it's wonderful that you have the boys in swimming lessons. It's fun for them and teaches them much needed safety in water.

I finally signed my 6 year old up for lessons and went straight for private. I couldn't be happier either. He wasn't trying to swim at all, so the fact that we're ending the summer with him getting his face wet, going underwater, and actually swimming on his own in deep water.....makes.me.happy. We'll get to all the other swim strokes you mentioned another summer. LOL
