Personally, I don't like to carve pumpkins.
It's messy and time consuming, and well, kids and knives make me nervous.
But
Boys love to carve pumpkins, so every year I bite my tongue and let Dan and the boys take care of the dirty work.
This year we found a pumpkin carving kit that turned our pumpkin into a big orange LightBrite. It was pretty cool. After you hollow out the pumpkin, you use the handy dandy mallet to hammer in the little colored pegs.
It was fun for all of us.
The kit was only big enough to decorate one pumpkin, so we still need to decide what to do with the other one.
Something non-messy, I hope.

Looks like fun! I am so boring that I don't do anything like that. If Conner wants to do that he has to ask Grandma Teri!!
Cute! I will have to try that. It looks safer also!
Cute Cute Cute!! Love the smily one!!
We barely did it last year, and this year I asked Jim to bring home some black vinyl and we'll make stickers so I can take them off after halloween and I can still have some pumpkins in my front yard for November!
We'll see how it works!
Do you think Jim would make me some black vinyl too?! I love that idea! I love having pumpkins through November.
We have the cutest little pumpkin on our front step. My sister did it for Lilly's birthday. She took Mrs Potato Head parts and made a pumpkin out of it. So cute!!! We are going to carve our other one. Not sure what we are going to do, since it is huge. Collin and I may just be heading out tomorrow to purchase a medium sized one to carve! Where did you find the light-bright kit?
