Our Vaca - Sunny SoCal - Part One

We spent the last week on a family vacation. And not just any family vacation - a four generational family vacation that we've all been looking forward to for a year.

Here's a quick re-cap of the highlights.

Day #1 We drove.

We did our best to make it there in one day. Due to unforeseen delays we didn't hit the road until 11am. And since it takes about 12 hours to get there, we didn't roll into Oceanside until 11pm. It was a long day. Thankfully my boys are good travellers (especially when they each have their own personal DVD player and headphones). Poor Sheeby was stuck riding between their car seats. He was a trooper and didn't complain. He earned his keep by dealing with their drama and bodily fluids.

Day #2 Hangover.

After the long drive of the day before, and because it was the sabbath, we spend the day relaxing and recuperating.

Day #3 Do as little as possible

This is the part of our vacation that's a little fuzzy to me. The boys so lovingly shared their germs with me, and I got sick. I think we planned on shopping this day, but all I remember is taking a stroll on the beach in the evening. If you want to know what else happened that day, you will have to ask someone else.

(Stay tuned for Part Two tomorrow)
