I am so relieved to have Halloween over with!
I get tired of it so quickly. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just one day.
(like I remember from my childhood)
At least this year all the festivities were confined to one week.
Thursday night we had a Birthday/Halloween party for my Grandma.
My cousin reserves a church each year for this party. We have dinner and trick-or-treating for the kids. It is nearly the only time all year that I see most of my relatives.
The highlight for the evening was Preston's disappearance. I left him with family members while I ran to the bathroom. As I was exiting the bathroom I was met by Tyson informing me that Preston was lost. I knew he couldn't get far so I wasn't worried. My panic didn't kick in until about 10 minutes later when we had several people looking for him and no one could find him.
Lesson learned: When looking for a two year old, it helps to think like a two year old.
I found him in the boys bathroom splashing in a toilet.
Friday night we had our ward party.
Carnival games, chili cook-off, costume parade, all followed by a dance.
Highlight of the night: Preston's disappearance.
I was attempting to help the clean up crew clear tables. The boys were dancing happily with their friends. I told them to stay together. When I finished cleaning up I found Tyson, but not Preston. Tyson thought he might have left the gym so I hit the hallways first. On my way out I asked a friend if she has seen Preston. She quickly passed word to others that he was missing. Just then a Yellow M&M said she saw him playing on the stage. Sure enough, I saw him dancing happily on the stage with several other children. At that moment I heard the music turn off and someone say over the loud speaker
"We have a lost child. Has anyone seen Preston?"
Needless to say I didn't let him out of my sight after that.
Saturday night we had a party at my sister's house.
I am happy to say that we didn't lose Preston once all evening.

I remember Halloween only being one day a year as well. I'm not too fond of the Halloween week, its just too much for me.
I still feel so horrible for losing Preston the 1st time. It was one of those moments where you take your eyes off the child for literally 1 second and then they are gone. I'm sorry that I am a bad babysitter.
It is sad that the only holiday I look forward to anymore is Christmas. It is the one holiday where it can last more than one day and not drain you.
You just might need a leash for Preston...haha...not really but I remember when Cody went through his disappearing stage. Not fun at all...and I would freak out every time.
Life....Never a dull moment.
You guys all look great. I love seeing the whole family dress up. You even made yourself a tutu cute! I love preston's smile.
